Save The Date!

Although WWPA members will not be gathering onsite for the traditional March meeting, Annual Meeting business will be conducted using a virtual platform. 

This March WWPA Committee Meeting, Members Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting will be conducted using Zoom or other comparable virtual meeting platform. 

The Quality Standards/Technical Committee will convene Tuesday, March 16 at 2:15  PM. The WWPA Members meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 8:45 AM Immediately followed by the Board of Directors at 9:00 AM. 

Registration for the virtual meeting sessions will be emailed to WWPA members in the coming days, with instructions, updates and reminders up to the day of the virtual sessions. 

Annual Meeting awards are also moving forward. Master Lumber Award, Chairman's Safety Award, District Safety Award, Hi-Q Award and Member Anniversary Award will all be recognized on the WWPA website and WWPA News. Each Master Lumberman and Chairman's Award recipients will receive an award plaque. Each Hi-Q Award recipients will receive a certificate of recognition.

Rick Northrup Appointed Committee Chair

Rick Northrup of Idaho Forest Group has been appointed Chair of the WWPA Technical Services Committee by WWPA Board of Directors Chair Chuck Roady. Rick began his career with Calendar Pine in 1986 and has been with IFG since 1997. He currenlty serves as IFG Quality Manager of Southern Mills. In 2014 Rick received the WWPA Master Lumberman Award.  With over 30 years in the industry, Rick has become a teacher and role model within the entire IFG organization.

Mr. Northrup has served as a longtime member of the WWPA Quality Standards Committee. His knowledge and leadership abilities will be a great asset to WWPA.


WWPA Welcomes New Members

Two lumber mills have joined WWPA. High Cascade Forest, LLC is headquartered in Carson, WA, which lies approx. 40 miles east of Portland, OR, in the middle of the Columbia River Gorge. 

Mt. Hood Forest Products, LLC was acquired in 2001 and during 2004 and 2005 the mill was updated and re-tooled to become a state of the art producer of high quality green douglas fir 2X4 and 2X6 dimension lumber. Today Mt. Hood produces over 150 million bd. ft. annually on a multiple shift basis.

WWPA welcomes both mills to the association.

In 2014 Rick received the WWPA Master Lumberman Award.  With over 30 years in the industry, Rick has become a teacher and role model within the entire IFG organization.

Mr. Northrup has served as a longtime member of the WWPA Quality Standards Committee. His knowledge and leadership abilities will be a great asset to WWPA.


WWPA Welcomes New Members

Two lumber mills have joined WWPA. High Cascade Forest, LLC is headquartered in Carson, WA, which lies approx. 40 miles east of Portland, OR, in the middle of the Columbia River Gorge. 

Mt. Hood Forest Products, LLC was acquired in 2001 and during 2004 and 2005 the mill was updated and re-tooled to become a state of the art producer of high quality green douglas fir 2X4 and 2X6 dimension lumber. Today Mt. Hood produces over 150 million bd. ft. annually on a multiple shift basis.

WWPA welcomes both mills to the association.

Save The Date!

Although WWPA members will not be gathering onsite for the traditional March meeting, Annual Meeting business will be conducted using a virtual platform. 

This March WWPA Committee Meeting, Members Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting will be conducted using Zoom or other comparable virtual meeting platform. 

The Quality Standards/Technical Committee will convene Tuesday, March 16 at 2:15  PM. The WWPA Members meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 8:45 AM Immediately followed by the Board of Directors at 9:00 AM. 

Registration for the virtual meeting sessions will be emailed to WWPA members in the coming days, with instructions, updates and reminders up to the day of the virtual sessions. 

Annual Meeting awards are also moving forward. Master Lumber Award, Chairman's Safety Award, District Safety Award, Hi-Q Award and Member Anniversary Award will all be recognized on the WWPA website and WWPA News. Each Master Lumberman and Chairman's Award recipients will receive an award plaque. Each Hi-Q Award recipients will receive a certificate of recognition.
