Mission and Operating Philosophy

WWPA’s mission is to effectively create value for its members. Staff activities include training mill personnel on lumber grades, helping member mills develop new products and procedures, gathering proprietary mill information to develop new operating benchmarks, and facilitating member collaboration to accomplish industry goals.

The biggest asset WWPA staff brings to their members is their expertise. Staff leverages that expertise to help members achieve their operational goals. Depending on the nature of the project, staff from different departments work together in functional teams to get things done. Effectiveness is measured by the positive impact on the members.

Member Involvement
One hallmark of WWPA is the active participation of top decision makers at member companies. The Association is governed by four member officers and a Board of Directors made up of principals from member companies. Officers and Directors are elected by the membership to serve two-year terms. Committee representatives are appointed by member companies to guide the activities in each of the three service areas. The committees meet at least twice a year to develop policies, guide activities and approve budgets for each Association service area.

For information about becoming a WWPA member, please contact Dyanne Martin (503)306-3480 or info@wwpa.org
